Dean B sent me through the first in a series of models of the Interislander ferries so I added them to the routes and let them do their thing- They look really good!

Haha yeah the AI system does have some limitations but if it didn't then we wouldn't call FSX a 'simulator' winkyy.gif

Best to go in bow first then bow out winkyy.gif when loaded AI .. this would be interesting .. just don't follow 'Mikhail Lermontov' route AI .. It may do a funky chicken tongue.gif

Further to Timmos post, here are some screenshots from FSDS. Some of you may have seen the first version of the Arahura I made years ago. These new models have many times the detail. They have been a welcome beak away from aircraft for me. Kaitaki is not far off complete. Then the Aratere!

Coincidentally I sailed to the North Island today on the real Arahura.

Hi Stewart. No these cannot be downloaded yet. I have the third ferry to build as well as some other finishing details. Once all is complete they will be released as an AI package.

Long shot, as I know you only support FSX....
Any chance of a compile for FS9?
Would be great to have an upgrade for those venerable models which by now have surely qualified for a heavy maintenance overhaul?

In this case it might work. The reason I don't support FSX is because all the animation tags and texture types are different between FSX and FS9, so you have to re-animate the whole model as well as recompile the textures to make it backward compatible. In this case because there are no complicated animation and just a single texture it may work with no or very little adjustment. But no promises. Thats the model side of things - I'm not sure about the BGL file to manage the AI route.

I found this today while looking for some reference material: ORBX Ferry
I wasn't aware ORBX were doing these. Oh well hopefully us kiwis cant do it equal justice. After all ORBX don't even know how many ferries Interislander actually has - they have 3 not 4!
