Wonderful piece of engineering, my take on it was that it was diesel....did you pick that...?

Just wondered what the purists would make of a diesel powered Spitty, or Lancaster ........?

biggrin.gif well why not a diesel powered P-51 or Spitfire , after all the Germans did it with there Junkers JU-86 ... Just think about it idea.gif the rides would be a lot cheaper .... won't sound like a true Merlin tho laugh.gif

Probably on the heavy side being made of only stainless and brass. Am an RC plane nut myself and if you have enough dosh there are plenty of radial engines on the market now.
