Definitely agree with that. There's some interesting, tantalising new stuff always popping up, but it seems like we've temporarily hit a speed bump before the next "big change". Of course aircraft might just go the same route as the car, with continuous minor improvements eventually leading to something that is quite different from, say 40-50 year's ago.
