PMDG 737ngx Fuel Dump?

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Sinz » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:00 pm

Came in to YPPH way to heavy tonight...Is there a fuel dump on the PMDG 737?
Couldnt find one sad.gif

Or do the Current Airlines not give the option to dump Fuel? Hence its not built into todays aircraft?
OMG I'm gonna have to start looking at total Fuel, and build a spreadsheet for it. Full 2/3 1/3 haven't looked to see if I can manually input fuel into the PMDG yet. Can I?
Problem is the Stupid AI ATC and Ground Vehicles, I could burn 500pound of fuel just waiting on them.

So Next purchase could be a decent ATC and AI traffic? Is there anything decent out there today?

No fuel dump feature exists on real 737s, same with most light aircraft. It's generally a feature on larger aircraft.

The NGX doesn't have the option of dumping fuel. "Max Landing Weight" is just the point at which you have to start inspecting things before you take off again, if you need to land above that then go for it, the NGX will land (at least once) at anything up to MTOW.

FCTM page 6.55 :
Overweight landings may be safely accomplished by using normal landing procedures and techniques. There are no adverse handling characteristics associated with overweight landings. Landing distance is normally less than takeoff distance for flaps 30 or 40 landings at all gross weights.

You shouldn't manually load fuel into the NGX but you can certainly use the FMC to load and correctly distribute whatever amount you want.

Cheers
Gary

MTOW.

FCTM page 6.55 :

MTOW: If I was still playing WOW I would be thinking "Mark Of The Wild" but its slightly Off. unsure.gif Don't know MTOW

FCTM: Looks like reading to me! Guess I'm gonna have to sooner or later, but will put it off as long as I can. PMDG Manuals I know... loaded to the iPad just hate to read.

Just flew the same run again... landing was a lot easier but still tricky. I tjhink I'm being setup, as I set takeoff for dawn but by the time I reached YPPH it was dusk and sun was going down...that anit right. 600nm dosn't take 12hrs.

Hmmm Bugs. Least I'm alot happier with REX E.

Still looking at AI and ATC and Sticking head in the sand!!!!! WTH Keep having to push "Y" slew so the other aircraft "don't" total me. laugh.gif

Thanks for the Input Chairman

And for the people who don't own this documentary and highly recommend , '25 Five Years in Kiwi Service Boeing 737' - on bringing one of the first 737s to the NZ one run into an emergency , 'smoke' and course the aircraft had a fuel bladder in the cabin to extend its range .. the Captain mention he was well overweight but not a problem landing back in Seattle.

MTOW - Maximum take off weight (you'll always land under that one lol)
FCTM - Flight Crew Training Manual (youtube tutorials might cut down your reading time)

Crashes into AI. Just turn off crash detect? Blows my mind why anyone would bother with it turned on in the first place. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Kind regards!
