Looking great, jankees. I've been looking forward to repaints appearing but haven't seen any yet. I think you may have the honour of the first ones for V4. Great they're Kiwi and Aussie paints and ones which haven't ever appeared on Dave's Rapide before.

Wow, great stuff! clapping.gif

Fancy doing these two jankees? This is on the V3 model:

ZK-AHS “Mokaiâ€￾ National Airways Corporation (1947-56)

Photos of the real plane at MOTAT - also includes another NAC scheme, ZK-AKY "Tui" which as far as I know is still airworthy.

ZK-ACO "Tainui" MacRobertson Air Race (1934)

Contemporary photos of the real plane

Keep up the good work,

Ade

Thanks for the pointer Ian, I found a good website about them. All brilliant I agree, and definitely right up my street. I'm going to mail order some of them, or buy them when I'm next over. Are they available in Whitcoulls or the like? Are they big hardback books?

Cheers,

Ade

The only one Hardback , the history of NAC < This is the most unbelievable book about NZ aviation , most highly recommended for the first , ill scan details and covers later today and links , Ive always preferred hardbacks myself but the paper back is superb quality and glossy paper , not a cheap print but sold at a very good price . $60NZ for 'Lost ... without trace' for example .

Thanks Ian, much appreciated. They really look superb, hours of quality reading.

I was more asking the question about hardbacks re: bulk as they would all have to go in my suitcase on the way back. Good job Emirates have a 30kg baggage allowance!

I'm still hoping to be next over in August, just need to confirm with my temporary HQ in Auckland whether they can have me laugh.gif

Cheers,

Ade

I assume this repaint is available somewhere online....but where??!!

I have memories of flying on these "grand" machines on a few occasions as an NAC passenger between Whangarei and Whenuapai many moons ago!!!

Cheers,

My first paints for the Dragon are now on Ozx.

As for the other you suggest, I would especially like to do the NAC version, but the field season is coming up, so starting the end of next week, I'll be on the road for two months or so..
