I wanted a half decent no nonsense GA craft to practice my instrument navigation so went with the Carenado C340.

I was wondering if anyone out there could enlighten me a bit more on the use of this mixture guage, it's got me a little stumped...cheers. smile.gif

Here ya go

EDM 760 Guide

Not sure how much detail is modelled in the EDM in the Carenado 340, but the beauty of having and EDM is that it helps you run Lean of Peak Mixtures using the LeanFind mode, and that you can see CHTs and EGTs on EVERY cylinder, which means you can lean to the leanest cylinder (or the richest cylinder if running LOP), not just whichever one the probe is on.

To really understand what you're trying to achieve, you have to do a bit of reading here: Pelican's Perch Index , starting at articles 15, 16, 18, & 19 for a background, and then articles 31-36 if you're interested in turbos. There's not much John Deakin doesn't know about running piston engines.

Don't be put off by all the information - there's lots of good stuff there, just look at the stuff you consider relevent and skim the rest, it'll give you a much better idea of what's going on under the cowls.

Cheers
