NZ SHOPS PROJECT

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby lowflier » Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:08 pm

I have decided to invest my free time in this project in hope that as I learn the trade I can give back to the FS community. However I do need help, I would love suggestions for shops and urban landmarks to add to this package. To date I have completed
-Pak 'n' Save
-The Warehouse
-Mitre 10 Mega
-Bunnings
-Harvey Norman
-McDonalds
-New World
and I am in the process of doing the big fast food joints.
Also any tips or pointers are sincerely appreciated!

Since you are in Ashvegas , you can replace buildings in your part of the world in the Ashburton scenery .... now that would be COOL ! cool.gif once you are happy with we can always re-post it at Flightsim.com

That sounds like a cracker idea Ian. Easy image access, area familiarity. And the aerial image is excellent, even managed to find my house!

Is that possible? That's an awesome idea. Far less tedious than how I had planned to do it

Hi Lowflier as you live in Ashvagas i have just donated a sigle seat simulator to the Ashburton aviation museum, they are comming to get it today, its going to need alot of work but will be good for them to let people have a fly. so if you want to call in there 1 day and introduce yourself to them i'm sure they would love to talk to you. Cheers Brent..

Brent , just for interest sake and to show people what they can see at Ashvagas International Airport Museum , you should post a photo here in this thread of the donated cockpit , they did have a spare ejection seat wonder if they might use it in your old setup cool.gif

There are approximate locations for the country in the 'Zenbu' data, but they don't have a rotation attribute so they would need to be rotated (and possibly slightly shifted) by hand.

However, it would probably make more sense to release specific tiles/areas of data together with other buildings etc

Sounds promising, I still have a lot I want to learn first so I might finish the models and release the library. Cheers for the info, I might start on a town by town basis.

Those look great! Actually had a go a while back at the Rolleston Warehouse distribution centre as its always something easy to spot on 02 approach to CH. The design is mostly finished, would just need to be textured and exported to FS. Might see if I can finish it when I have some free time.

Good luck man, it looks great. I always see it driving through and wouldn't mind 30 mins and a trolley in there! laugh.gif
