RNZAF 75th Anniversary MP Show

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby lowflier » Thu Jan 05, 2012 1:36 pm

With it being the year of the RNZAF's 75th Anniversary I got thinking... And thinking.... and thinking.... and then stumbled across and idea, why not have a virtual anniversary celebration, with any RNZAF painted aircraft of models from throughout the 75 years. I understand this kind of thing takes alot of time, effort and practice, and as I said Its just an idea at the moment. With help from NZFF veterans and experts alike I reckon we could make this a memorable virtual event.

So anyone keen?

Dan

The one requirement is all having the same model , and has to be payware required as well , Start the list with the .. and FSX , have to be made easy , most all will have the Harvard , i guess this could be chalendge but get it right perfect .

Tiger Moth , Ants will fil the gap well
Harvard , Alphasim , freeware not an option
Devon , Derek Palmer

above a good example off the requisite , so time is now really quite short but i,m in help and direct , Gavins FSX Ohakea would be ideal .

Everyone involved is and required to have the listed payware ( still to be listed ) , but now the biggest thing is to get all together as well and that can be the biggest headache .

Alrighty then, I'll list some of the obvious ones.
NZOH sounds like the venue.

C-130-Captainsim of Course
P-3K-KBT Team
757(do we need this?)-Captainsim or QW?
CT-4E-Nigel Booths Freeware model
UH-1-Aerosoft Nemeth or shall we go freeware?
A-4Ks-Frat or RAZBAM?
Blunty-Nigel Booths
Seasprite-Alpha of Nigel Booths
DAK-Default.
Andover-Rick Pipers
Sioux-Not too sure
Macchis?-I've packed up one that doesn't look too shabby.

Sounds like fun Dan. So are you talking about a virtual airshow kinda thing with formation flying etc? (who was it that tried to organise one a year or two back, did it happen?)

I have a bunch of the machines mentioned (not a P51 or Harvard sadly), just a suggestion, to make it easier for prospects you should keep editing your original post in this thread with the reccomended models once there's consensus.
(speaking of which, I'm rooting for the QWings 757, coz I dont have the CS one in FSX smile.gif

No i did,nt , simply because the collection , the costing in people not having the models , i joined an airshow , using freeware .. looked bloody horrible screen shot wise , only months after FSX was released hence the reason i mentioned the required payware.

Been a couple Dean over the times , both without sorta realizing that some people cannot afford all the addons , all previous type of shows did fail for that very reason .

I really like that idea, it also takes off a bit of the pressure regarding rehearsals and such. And I agree completely, a new Wigram would be great!

You won't quite get a WWII Wigram , the city has changed so much , for the good and the bad , it dose look a little war torn and heck the bombers-(earthquakes) are still attacking , cant tell if they are Heinkels or Doriners , but you can get an operational Wiggy , maybe we would catch some off those bombers on the return trip .. for you CHCH city folk , our AI-Radar is not working so well , sits up on that hill in Cashmere - so we don't see the carnage till the bombers are flying home .... you fighter pilots may have to sleep in your plane if we are to catch em .

I would like to help but do not have any skills etc, Also do not have all the planes. Possible to set up a list where we can post what we have and then we can see where to go from there as to what A/C to use as I know everyone needs the planes in their system. Should include freeware and payware as not everyone can go and buy some just for this event. Also we need to put a date to this.
Here is the RNZAF calander

22 January
Walsh Memorial Flying School, Matamata (Red Checkers display)
28-29 January
Tauranga City Air Show (Red Checkers display)
6 February
Waitangi Day (Red Checkers display)
11 February
Coast to Coast finish, Christchurch (Red Checkers display)
16–19 February
Art Deco Weekend, Napier (Red Checkers display)
12–16 March
Official launch at Parliament House, Wellington (tbc) Launch of the 75th Anniversary/ANZAC Stamp and Coin Collection by NZ Post
RNZAF 75th Anniversary book launch
17 March
Manfield Field Days, Manawatu (Red Checkers display)
17-18 March
Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT), Military Weekend, Auckland
24 March
Red Checkers over Auckland
24 March
Air Force Museum of NZ, Open Day, Wigram
(Date TBC)
Squadron history book launch, No. 6 Squadron, Auckland
25 March
Red Checkers over Rotorua
26 March
Red Checkers over Gisborne
26 March
Red Checkers over Taupo (twilight)
27 March
Red Checkers over New Plymouth
29 March
Red Checkers over Ohakea (rehearsal)
31 March
Air Force Air Show (Ohakea)
2–3 April
RNZAF 75th official birthday celebrations Forecourt Parade, Parliament, Wellington
Commemorative Service, St Paul's Cathedral, Wellington Formal Dinner, Wellington
7–8 April
Warbirds over Wanaka (Red Checkers display)
21 April
Hobsonville, opening of the Hobsonville Memorial
25 April
ANZAC Day commemorations across the country

So maybe to coincide with one of these??
My two cents worth.
Adrian.
