Yeah, haven't been able to work on it for a while, really just want to get it out there.

So may or may not release it with the 2.5m annotated photoreal, but definitely the nice 10cm (I think) photoreal image.

Nick I have put together a BGL file that has the RNAV approaches for NZMS that is used by the default GPS unit. In fact I am slowly working my way around the country updating all the approaches.
If you want to include this in your scenery file I can send it to you.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Nice job! What have you got so far? I'd be keen to try some of these out.

PM me with an email address and I will forward it to you.
So far I have basically completed the whole of the North Island as well as Hokitika, Westport, Woodbourne, Nelson, Glentanner/Mt Cook and Te Anau/Manapouri.
They are available for FS9 or FSX. For places that have arrivals or STAR's I am trying to include them as approach transitions so that at least a STAR can be flown..(useful for flying online with VATSIM). SID's are not possible unfortunately.
At the moment I am just fine tuning them, as well as trying to make allowance for both Cat A,B and C approach categories.

If I may ask...how are things progressing at this point with it?
Not asking for an immediate release since I know quite a bit of work is involved. Simply curious as to what is currently happening in this airport's development.

At the moment when I have spare one, I'm experimenting with different runway textures and settings to try and get a nice detailed, sharp runway.

The problem with your semi/first project is that you're learning as you go...so you end up remaking each building about 4-7 times after experimenting and trying different things different ways.

Yeah, although it's a slow process.
edit in gmax, export mdl, make a library bgl to place, start fsx, load the airport, start the Instant scenery, slew to the position, place the model, adjust the placement of the model, see something isn't quite right with the texture, load photoshop, edit the texture, save the psd, open the psd in image with ACES image tool, change the format, generate the mips, save as dds, go back into FSX, refresh the textures and REPEAT!!!

I'm away for a few weeks, so can't work on it ATM biggrin.gif

I am getting closer, and he release of the VLC library has helped it along a bit..

And, I'm building a new computer with lots of ram so I can edit all the 10cm/pixel aerial goodness! All in the name of freeware! tongue.gif
