I know I am ong behind the times, but with my basic laptop (yes, LAPTOP), with only 2ghz, 4gb ram, very very basic graphics card, and loaded with many other programs and games, I now have FSX running with VLC at 30FPS - only dropping down to 20FPS very occasionally.
Just like to say thanks to a lot of you for the info over the year regarding hardware and many other aspects of simming. And secondly, and excellent job with VLC!!!!
So there is hope for you out there who are considering the move away from the trusty old FS9.
