Thanks Kahu. I've been using your Whenuapai beta and it's brilliant... can't wait to see the finished version. A great start to my birthday today!

I've flown into Whenuapai many times over the years in FS, but only saw it in real life for the first time in August so a highly detailed and accurate version is very welcome from me.

Is the Rena wreck likely to be there permanently or are there plans to remove it do you know?

Cheers,

Ade

The short answer Adrian, is that in one shape or another it will probably be there for a long time. The immediate problem is to remove the oil from it and this is well
underway, probably only a couple of hundred tons left and the weather is favourable.

Step two will be to remove the containers from it and I can see this being a major job.

After that will come the problem of removing the hulk. The front section will probably stay where it us as it seems to be firmly wedged. The rear portion will either
break off in bad weather or will be hacked off and hopefully floated somewhere else for breaking up. It is to be hoped that the salvors will gradually cut what remains
on the reef of in manageable bits. In short, a major job.

Highlight WHENUAPAI then click OK then when it goes in the scenery folder option just click anywhere in the blank white space then it will activate. Its a windows 7 issue.

Thanks for the info Bazza. I was wondering how the clean up operation was going as the media here are no longer covering the story. What a shame to see such a beautiful part of the country suffer in this way.

On a more positive note, I've just taken my NAC Rapide up for a spin over Whenuapai and Rena... great work Kahu, well done! clapping.gif

Hey Kahu, great add ons!! thankyou thumbup1.gif The Whenuapai scenery is so realistic that after I had parked the RNZAF F/A-18 in the hanger I saved the flight in tower view...It sure is a great view from up there! winkyy.gif Then I went to Tauranga and parked a Search and Rescue hovercraft on the beach at Mount Maunganui, cranked 'er up and whizzed out to have a look at the shipwrecked Rena. Just love what you have done with the ship plus the extra touches like the chopper hovering overhead while lowering personnel, and the containers in the water being rounded up by the tug boat tongue.gif Just one small suggestion though, when you upload your scenery, how about some basic installation instructions for the "newbies" blink.gif Great job, much appreciated thumbup1.gif

Have just downloaded the Whenuapai scenery, which is great. A big thankyou.... However.... there is always somebody with a however. Can anybody help me with the afcad. My AI are cleared to taxi hold short runway 30 using taxiway D for example. They taxi out and just stop after a short distance and sit there until they time out and disapear.
Cheers,
