13,600 pilots will be needed in OZ and NZ by 2030. China alone will need 72,700 in the next 20 years.
I have heard all this sort of projection before in bygone years and like Boeing performance figures for the 747-8F the numbers are usually grossly over inflated.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
