Ah the push - me - pull - me - tangle foot. Nice.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Nice one, cool aircraft, bet they're fun to fly too performance wise.
We even have one on the nz register: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/skymast.html
And I remember reading a book about air central who operated one out of taupo a while back

Facebook...
OMG!
"Sebastian Zambrano, Jose Enrique Simisterra Caicedo and Juanjo Martínez Palacio like this."
WTH? LOL!

Ah well, seriously, it looks very good indeed.
I have the FSD model which will take some beating, be interesting to compare.
It's a great flyer, I always turn off the back engine in the cruise... because you can!

Didn't realise there were any left in NZ, seems there are two:
DFT Wanaka
FZA Auckland
but painted as O-2A's

Looks great doesn't it.

ZK-DRO was sold to Australia and is now the Westpac SAR 337 which is one of the Carenado models.

Zk-TSH is a pressurised 337 by the looks which is different from the Carenado model

ZK-TAI is still around apparently but in pieces waiting for a rebuild

ZK-DFT is owned by Garth Hogan who owns the P-40N....not sure whether it is still flying

ZK-FZA is also a pressurised model..

Hey Charl, FSD have a discount on the 337 this weekend, puts it at about half the price of the typical Carenado, u reckon its a good buy?
Love the idea of the aircraft, just not sure I'd fly it enough to warrent a full price purchase

update: just found a couple of posts at 3rdLevelNZ about the Taupo Air Services 337 I was thinking of, and 3 others that Air Chathams have operated....

Sean , A bit of trivia , http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_UTtVlwZDbz0/S6QA...ir+Chathams.jpg .... this photo would be dated between 1970-1972 at Christchurch International , the white structure to the left is the old Airport Crash Services , now placed a kilometer away .

It's a great website, and I enjoy browsing through it for repaint ideas! Not sure who runs it or if they're a forum member. Didn't mean to offend you or anyone else by not explicitly mentioning the source. Slipped my mind....

Carenado HD series will have the edge, the FSD model is a couple of years old now.
But at the price, I wouldn't hesitate
Like their Porter, it set new benchmarks at the time - it is a real flyer's aircraft.
Some screens:

it can look quite ungainly sometimes, and I remember thinking of it as an extreme oddity years ago.
But then you remember it is a twin, and a serious aeroplane...

I hate to hijack a thread (no wait, I dont really) with a competing product but I bought the FSD 337 and it really is a good buy, exterior lacking a little I'm sure polygon wise but it sure is frame-rate friendly, has a mean sound pack (they MUST have been terribly noisy things to ride in), is a fun aircraft to fly, and seems to perform well, of course it should with two props I guess.

update: all aerobatic tom-foolery aside, the FSD has a real nice VC view, was buzzing about just now with TrackIR and was loving it, the 337 seems to have lots of open forward windshield area, not so good out the sides however

Anyway, here's a screenie of me doing some sight-seeing over Hamilton airport tongue.gif

Yup, as I said, it's a Flyer.
Be good if a proud new Carenado owner comes back here to post some screens and comments in due course.
