RNZAF P-3K/P-3K2 Orion

NZ4202 On the 2nd of two touch & go's - it landed and parked on the apron for approx 10mins before doing the touch & go's - I didn't manage get out their fast enough to get any photo's of it on the apron as it started Taxiing out to take off just as reached the airport car park.

Thanks Marty - Apparently it also visited Tauranga today as well:

Got a stiff arm just as 02 lifted off the runway ohmy.gif

During a display at Wigram , a P3 took off in lest than 500m they do have a sprite,ly performance when displaying and lightly loaded .

Yes it did ..only if I had a camera on me ..would of got a beauty shot of it passing the 3/4 moon last night.

dry.gif Thats it.....Im moving north....P-3's, Herc's, Hueys...and great photo ops...the only time we see them here is when the bloody place is shaking itself to bits unsure.gif

They are using Hamilton and other airports more presently to train at due to the runway work being done at whenuapai presently.

Makes sense. It would only be about 15 mins down the road....as the Orion flys!

Great pics too. What I like about them all is all the detail that you don't normally see watching an aircraft fly over, even at close range. But the camera grabs it all, from some really great angles. I worked on Orions for 5 years, so know the aircraft really well, but I always see something different from a new angle or perspective.

My wife and mother saw these guys flying over our place in Hamilton, they thought it was a DC10 bless them laugh.gif

NZ4202 Early Evening Fri 19-8-11 this one did some cool.gif turns on the way into the airport over the city.










Two Stop & go's backtrack etc.
