First time Ive seen one of these.....amazing what you can miss.

Its done by Soloy Aviation. The TSIO-52O is replaced with a Rolls Royce 250-C20S turbine. 85 conversions done to date.

It looks more like a 207. What a beast.

I think you'll find, due to the rego + the search I made, it is actually a 207. Looks pretty cool, would be interesting to see its performance and practicality of the turbine engine. However, IMO, a C150 turbine would be a bowl of s**t.

What a great meat bombing platform. I thought it might have been a Walter trurbine.

I agree. laugh.gif

Looks a bit stupid w/ a turbine on the front. I always thought the standard 206/207 was quite a pretty aircraft. smile.gif

Have to agree with you...the turbine looks mean, but the standard 06/07 are good looking aircarft.

The C207 had a bit of a balance issue. When fully laden it would crash down on the tail with the nose wheel dangling in the air. Once started (and with just a smidgen of power above idle) if it came back down onto the nosewheel then it was just within the CofG range. Of course you had to be a little careful taxiing as the nosewheel would bounce off the ground over rough terrain. Both a the 206 and the 207 could be a b###h to start when luke warm (to prime or not to prime). To this day I can still see the disapproving looks from my boss, sitting staring out of his office window (only a few feet away), as I would load up the 207 thinking that it would stay on all 3 legs only to have it crash on it's arse before I could get in. Then to top it all off during the start it would give a beaut backfire that would fair rattle the whole office. A great confidence booster to the relatives waving goodbye to their loved ones smile.gif
The C207 is a damn good workhorse but not as good for tricky strip work as the C206.

Interesting insight CP...... thumbup1.gif That tail sitting must have a bugger of a thing.....the mental picture of you running to the left front door before it "sat"....is priceless.....cheers.

On Flying Wild Alaska they had a short clip, only a few seconds long, of a 207. Must of been right on tipping point, because he throttled up and pulled back while parked and that was enough to get the front wheel off the ground.
