CPL Flight Test coming up shortly- any tips for those who have already sat it? Or questions you were asked by the examiner?

Anyone had Brendon Bourne before? Cheers.

The only advise I can give mate is be prepared to be yelled at. If your being put up for the test then you are capable of passing it so just fly like you do every day and youll be fine. Different testing officers have different areas they concerntrate on. The guy who did my CPL and C-Cat just asked law questions, whereas the guy who did my renewal just asks weather questions, although the fixed wing examiners are probably different. The guy who did my CPL asked questions to see if I would take on jobs that I wasnt ready for like sling etc. Dont know if this helps at all.

91% on PPL Air Law and 96% on Human Factors, I'm pretty pleased with that

. The less KDRs I have to do the better

So Aircraft technical knowledge on monday... Im not feeling too confident, its a lot of content that theyll be picking only 20 questions out of! I'll have to study hard the rest of today and get up early tomorrow haha.

you'll be sweet mate, from your last results you're obviously no slug. Couple of days cramming and you'll fly through.

Well Met results are in, a 93% in that so that bodes well for ATK cos I wasnt too confident with Met either..

I believe I'm doing them in September... not too sure. First flight was yesterday, had an awesome time up in the air

Make sure you know things like "Rough Air Speed" or at least where to find stuff like that in the Flight Manual (not really a biggie).
The only fails I know of are from busting airspace, which some examiners will try to set you up for.

Pretty confident on all my speeds/ aircraft knowledge, but yeah, little worried about letting my mind slip when being asked to do a compass turn and busting airspace

Just did my first solo flight in a C-172 (JSP)... Had to do a go around cos my approach wasnt stable.. then another one cos of aircraft on the runway, followed by a right turn into a right hand circuit, one left hand orbit... then a left turn into a left hand circuit for the runway running the other way cos tower decided they wanted to use that instead... But still had the same number of landings as take-offs, so thats a success!!

Stoked as, that makes me the first of NZ18 at CTC to go solo
