Help! Ardmore

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby AndrewJamez » Tue Jul 05, 2011 10:27 pm

I have just upgraded my pc and installed FSX on a faster HD. I backed up all my addons apart form some odds and ends that I ONLY had stored directly in the addon scenery folder in the FSX installation folder. I have been able to recover all my lost scenery bar the cool Ardmore scenery that I think may have been and FS9 scenery that worked in FSX? Its not either of the versions on Avsim and I cant for the life of me think where I got it from other than its in this utube video. I would love to find this scenery again. Can anyone help please.

Was this it:

Thanks for downloading this photoreal scenery!

This scenery includes:

- Ardmore Aerodrome with accurate positioning of buildings using satelite data.
- Afcad with highly accurate positioning of runways and taxiways.
- Accurate comm frequencies
- Surrounding area outside of aerodrome

Installation

1) Simply put the "Ardmore, Auckland, New Zealand" folder located in the zip file into your Microsoft Flight Simulator X / Addon Scenery /
2) Enter Microsoft Flight Simulator X and navigate to "settings" menu then add the scenery.

If that can't be found - or isn't even the right one, then shout and I'll dig out mine. It's my default startup location. I re-did the parking spots and taxiways as an experiment- before I decided just about everyone at NZFF is better at that sort of stuff than me. I'll find that if you want - it sits alongside/on top of the regular Ardmore scenery (whichever one it happens to be). I'll maybe upload a screengrab as I've forgotten what NZAR looks like without it now winkyy.gif

Ah yes thats the one. From flightsim.com I never recalled it been 22mb though. I think I deleted the photoreal file so it blended with Supercity scenery as the colouring is quite different,

Thanks for you help guys smile.gif

Here's mine with that photoreal tile - and the revised grass runways taxiways etc. That tile really is *very* different. Maybe I'll re-colour it - or delete it as you suggest.

Personally recommend a re-colour - it would be worth it if you have time , go well with Gavin,s incoming Whenuapia scenery smile.gif

Good question, it was along time ago, umm, I think the largest file in the ardmore scenery folder is usualy the photo texture. Just cut and paste it to desktop and run fsx again and see what happens. I'll try it agon when I get a few spare minutes.

I usually rust rename it to something with an extension other than .bgl. I just did it for NZAR and it works fine. All other scenery remains intact.
