GPS for Cresco

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby AlisterC » Fri Jul 01, 2011 12:43 pm

Hi all,
Forgive me wanting to find a way to modify Deane's masterpiece, but I'd like to do some A to B flying in the Cresco, and it would be dang handy to have the default FSX GPS to use to do so. Is there a way to add the GPS to Cresco somehow? Ie in a pop up window like the default planes eg C172.
Thanks in advance

I've tried cutting and pasting the following to the Cresco panel cfg, no luck. Perhaps you might know where I have gone wrong lol

[Window01]
size_mm=456,378
window_size=0.5
position=8
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
VISIBLE=0
ident=GPS_PANEL
zorder=4

gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0

I think what you have done with that code is add a GPS to the 2d panel, of which there isn't one for the Cresco. To add a GPS to the VC you need to map gauges onto polygons. The only way I can see would be to change the last line of the following panel CFG entry:

[Vcockpit22]
size_mm=512,512
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$trimble
Background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=Cresco!trimble, 1, 0, 510, 511

That should put the default GPS in place of the dummy ag one.

Seems a shame to mess with your VC, Deane (I mean I *like* that dummy gauge!) ... can it be done as a regular 2D popup instead?

Yeah, that's what I was after, the 2d pop up. Sorry Deane, I meant to reply to this. I added your lines to the panel config, but it didn't work for me. That's as far as I got unfortunately. Haven't been able to fly much lately.
