Most of my flying with VLC has been duriing daylight hours so, when I made my first twilight/after sunset flight, there were numerous small areas of fluorescent green - looked like lighted areas but randomly scattered. It has the appearance of spilled bleach only green rather than white.

Its the Day time texture slowly blending with night textures ,more noticeable on photoreal scenerys if they do not include a night Map you will see the FSX night map lighting kickin in underneth ,not sure it can be avoided in landclass and is very normal for me so i personally dont worry at all about it ,how long does this last for ? should maybe only be the 15min -30min or so for the sun to set in the sim, ive never checked really .
Im sure the others will clarify in detail ,mine is a short answer and im pretty sure this would be fairly correct but don't quote me on it ..

Dave , Obviously your not a SIMPSON fan .... Ole Homer always glow,s fluorescent green in the Dark ... Doh !

No serious - You may find a lot off your texture issues will have to do with maybe the extra texture pack , your ground texture is so different to default VLC , that will be the cause .
