Ok, so taking off using VTOL is working out awesome! The landing part of it, not so much yet... LOL

Wouldn't worry too much, landings are always a lot harder than takeoffs. winkyy.gif

Actually taking off in this bird is pretty straight forward, much easier than some other payware I have. Its coming in at around 150 or less kts and landing using VTOL thats the tricky part. But agreed, any kind of landing is tougher than taking off. smile.gif I may have to take a couple of screen caps or vid capture when i can finally nail it just to savor the moment.. lol

Just in case some of you jumpy pilots did not sign up to the Wilco news letter Version 2 is now released .

We are pleased to inform you that a new version of HARRIER JUMP JET has been released, V2.

It is a complete version. The first one will have to be uninstalled first.

Here is a list of the Version 2 improvements :

1) Auxilliary air intake doors now operate more realistically ( gravity reactive when engine off, air pressure reactive when operational)

2) HUD "collimation" improved for Track IR users
3) Revised, easier to operate autopilot in the VC
4) Revised and improved VTOL gauge with pointers for Nozzles, STO lever, Flaps and wind direction. Readouts for Windspeed, Radio Heightand Pitch angle

5) More accurate "g" meter
6) Reduced reflectivity in VC glass
7) Revised textures for DX10 preview at night
8) Numerous minor inprovements throughout.

Yea I got an email on this, but thx for the update Ian. winkyy.gif Quick question, is anyone having issues with the radar? I hit shift+4 and I see a quick flash like a panel pops up, but then disappears. I've scoured the manual and couldn't find anything on it other than shift+4 is for radar. LOL.. is there supposed to be a radar pop up for this thing?

hmmm.. interesting. I uninstalled the v10a to install the V2 version and it still doesn't work. Played around with different views, still no joy. I must be one of the unlucky ones to not have this feature for whatever reason. sad.gif I thought installing the new V2 would solve this.

I wonder if the popup window is showing behind the main FSX window for some reason. Maybe it open, the main screen grabs focus to it's sitting on top of the pop radar window - shouldn't but maybe . . .

The other thing to realise is that the popup radar isn't the same as the one on the cockpit instrument panel - in fact it's quite different.

Yea thats what I thought at first to Scaber, but changing views and whatnot didn't seem to work. I'm not having any issues with other pop ups. I'll just have to play with it and see if I can figure it out. In the meantime I'm looking on the net for others who might be having the same problem. Maybe someone has found a fix out there or Wilco will address the problem and a workable solution. smile.gif or better yet I'll contact them.

Thanks guys!! biggrin.gif
