Looking forward to this realistic depiction of Hawera. In my heyday (62 yrs ago) on our cross country navigation training in the trusty old Tiger Moth,we used to have to buzz the sheep off the paddock before we could land at Hawera. No navigational aids in those days and no radio coms just a few compass bearings jotted down on a piece of paper, and if you lost those from your cockpit in the slipstream, you were on your own and up the creek without a paddle, unless you were fortunate enough to be flying in weather that allowed you to revert to Visual Flight Rules.
