WIP - Topdressing Loaders

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby deaneb » Sun May 01, 2011 9:54 pm

With VLC and other scenery projects forging ahead, I have been working on a Library of agricultural aviation related objects. The first model is fixed wing topdressing loader. I chose a generic (modern) Fuso truck which seems to be widely used and have made several versions to represent different ten companies. They are all done in two configurations - loading (raised bucket) which is suitable for placing on farmstrips and places where aircraft are operating - and lowered (stowed) bucket, for parking up around airports/airfields just like you see them all over the country.

I will also look at doing a tanker? Some other ideas I have are Fertiliser bins/piles. If anybody has other ideas for vehicles or objects then please let me know. Also if you have any photos of any of these type objects please let me know. Cheers Deane

I'm not familiar with the VLC object library, but a fertiliser shed, you know the ones with the roof on wheels, would be quite nice. There is a lot of the around North Canterbury.

Thanks connor - I'll look into that. An object library is pretty much just that. What I will do is bundle all the models into one BGL file plus textures. Then designers of scenery can pick and place any of the objects they want to use in their scenery using design programs such as ADE etc. Then so long as the end user has loaded the library objects too, the models show up.

.............an animated loader perhaps ? smile.gif
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
