FS9 radar to FSX?

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

Postby J7G » Sat Apr 16, 2011 8:45 pm

Aloha gents,

I have an FS9 aircraft I love flying in FSX (Bear Studios J7). The radar works fine in FS9, allowing me to intercept those pesky airliners penetrating restricted airspace (defined as where ever I am at the time biggrin.gif). Now, this radar doesn't work in FSX and it tells me (in game, on the radar screen) that I need GDI+ on the computer to run the radar and so it's inop.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Cheers!

The J7 fanboy.

Bear Studios J7 even i don,t have it , Very limited in NZ going from FS9 to FSX many problems pop up , textures and systems , i wonder if best help would be directly going to the Studio .

I've checked their forums but 80% of the queries he seems to just ignore. Shame really. It's a really nice model and the panel is all in Chinese too so it's good for my study (so I will continue to claim biggrin.gif ). The radar/nav would be lovely. I'll have to put some screenshots of it up soon.

It's pretty rude. I've just had a thought- and I know it's probably not going to be popular- but having a quick check, this aircraft has a bunch of torrents for it. Considering it's about 7 or 8 years old and still at full price (ridiculous) and the lack of support you could consider that option.

Mind you I've just checked their forums again and he's announced that the J10 is ready and will soon be published. Sigh. I'm a sucker for PLAAF aircraft so I'll probably get it biggrin.gif

This is a cute idea... you could pirate the software, and then chance your arm on the developer's support forum!
If he's awake and denies support, you could then pop up on some random forum and plead, hoping some kind soul will provide you with advice.
Even if that fails, well, it hasn't cost you anything but a bit of time, eh?

Interestingly, some developers are getting pro-active and uploading Bombs onto the torrent sites.
At the very least, it is a crippled product that is delivered, but some have less of a sense of humour: they take the sim apart.
Really ugly ones go for the computer, which is a tad rough if the download used Dad's machine...

It's a tough world out there, I wish e-commerce would get over the Wild West approach and get it together - for everyone's benefit.
(I hate being treated like a criminal when I make a legitimate purchase.)

I'm not sure if you're implying I pirated it myself, I paid for it years ago now. What I was trying to say is that it seems a bit off to have to pay for something that's basically abandonware and hasn't had a price drop in 8 years.

I agree re the rest of your post.
