Nice pic...I do have a soft spot for the lines of the QE2 though, had the pleasure of bumping into her in Sydney, on her very last cruise.

Next stop is the Coromandel Peninsula.
A four-step production: photoreal overlain by some great autogen and custom airports, and a little extra texture tweak.
I love flying this beautiful scenery, and have just the aircraft to do it in.

Yup, and fishing rod lashed to a strut.
Over the hump, here we go...on the way east there's a couple of rural strips that make Courcheval look tame, Kauaeranga is one.
This baby just eats 'em.

I guessed there is enough room for your fishing pole as well , you really don't need an airfield for this machine .

Tell you what, I've sometimes learned more about places by visiting them in Flight Simulator, than if I'd bought a package tour and hoofed it through.
And, I've visited places because they looked interesting in the sim!

Naki I didn't land, but I was driving a Bull Stearman.
When you have a Bull Stearman, you can do things...
(I suspect Whitianga doesn't look like that any more either.)

Weird thing Charl , you have nailed it , many people don,t even look out there back door , in making scenery you have to understand the area your in , simple go there and look .

OK now the conundrum: after the Stearman, what do you step into, to take the leap across the Hauraki Gulf?
From the sublime to the ridiculous you say?

Instead, "inspired" by the photo inset, we wing our way over Waiheke and the city, to home base NZAA



Astonishingly, the most current FS9 scenery for Auckland Airport is almost a decade old!
Brilliant in its day but really needing an update which may never happen...busy place nonetheless:

Whenever I see it from this angle, I am reminded of a giant aircraft carrier, somehow bonded to the parking lot.
Perhaps one day, Monty Python-esque, it will tear loose, and with a few captive taxiing Jumbos, head off toward the Manakau Heads, and into the sunset

They sure are...you have to admire the guys' dedication, keeping those old planes aloft.
And who knows, there may even be a Mozzie for Easter this year.

Your running out off Country soon , there is a brilliant little photoreal Whangarei by David Quirey , after that you may have to do a return trip in FSX

Guess your are going to make it to Omaka or are you , bitta camping gear , sure someone could set you up directly on the airfield

Thanks I'll have a liddlelooksie...FSX well you guys will have to come up with a heck of a lot of scenery between now and end March, when this show ends!
Omaka: hoping yes but first I'll camp on NZAR threshold to see if Mozzie actually flies.
