well I guess you know there had to be one............![]()
I did the install as directed, but Blenheim is now sitting down in a hollow, Picton is raised and lowered, and Omaka is raised![]()
Would it be a double up in an AFCAD ??????
or is it just finger trouble as it usually is![]()

The Problem Child
Did you check these before you installed the patch? The patch doesn't includes any files relating to Blenheim or Omaka, so I suspect that the problem is something else. I assume you have a patched VLC install.
It is possible that you have duplicate AFCADs, so give some thought to what you may have installed for the area.

OK I see you have fixed itLast edited by dbcunnz on Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I have tried installing twice, the second time I did a new install of Marlborough. I notice the patch only includes files in the texure folder and nothing in the scenery folder, so I'm not sure how the elevation issues are actually changed?
On a side note - I have never been able to get the SP2 trees patch to work either, I still get transparency issues with trees.
This is very frustrating!!
Hmmm indeed. The installer will only replace scenery files which it actually finds, so it looks like it didn't find the existing files. I'd certainly like to figure out why, so it'd be good if you could bear with me for a bit, Deane, so we can figure it out.
Did the installer give any warning that it couldn't find the registry or scenery.cfg? If not, did it display the correct install path?
EDIT: I just had a look at the SP2 tree fix, and it does seem a little strange -- presumably it replaced the tree library, but in that case I don't understand why I named it with the SP2 designation. Do you have a file called MarlTrees.bgl? If so, try disabling that and see if it makes a difference to the trees.Last edited by toprob on Fri Mar 18, 2011 12:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.

No the installer gave no warnings. It correctly identified my default display path however the installer puts two new folders (scenery and texture) inside the existing RealNZMarlborough/scenery folder. Nothing else was altered in my existing folders. When I realised that, I went to copy the files from the additional folders the installer created, back into the correct (existing) scenery and texture folder. Thats when I noticed there is nothing in the new scenery folder which was created.
I don't have a file called MarlTrees.bgl, only one called OmakaTrees.bgl. Disabling that made no difference.
Thanks

Sorry about the wait, I've been going over the code but I haven't managed to make it misbehave like this. The install seems to be adding an additional 'scenery' to your install path, but I can't figure out why. I assume that the install path on the 'Confirm Install Location' window didn't include 'Scenery' at all?
Is there anything strange about your setup -- such as a non-standard install location for FSX or your addon scenery, or if you use some sort of tool to organise your Scenery Library?

Hi Robin,
I have done a complete reinstall of Real NZ Marlborough, Real NZ marlborough SP2 Update, VLC 101 Patch, and NZPN Patch.
I am still having problems at the 3 airfields though, its like they all need a flatten file....
I have found that there are duplicate AFCAD files though, they are
AF2_NZWB - in Addon Scenery/Real NZ Marlborough/Scenery and Scenery/World/Scenery
AF2_NZOM - in Addon Scenery/Real NZ Marlborough/Scenery, Scenery/World/Scenery and Addon Scenery/Scenery
AF2_NZPN - in AddonScenery/Real NZ Marlborough/Scenery and Addon Scenery/Scenery
Can you recommend which AFCADs I should remove ?
This problem only appeared after I did the initial install of the NZPN Patch.
I am starting to pull my hair out (not that there is much left)
Cheers
Phil

The correct files are the ones in RealNZmarlborough\Scenery, and Scenery\World\Scenery. Just remove them from Addon Scenery\Scenery. (The patch can't have caused the duplicates -- it only includes NZPN files, so I suspect you've installed something else which included these.)
deaneb wrote:QUOTE (deaneb @ Mar 19 2011,5:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Stock standard set up. I did a full re-install of FSX, then Acceleration late last year.
So what files are supposed to be in scenery folder for the patch? Like I said I only get files in the texture folder and there is nothing in the scenery folder where I'd assume you would have a bgl file to correct the elevation at the very least?
Deane -- I'd rather send you a version of the installer which doesn't include the security code -- so the scenery files would install the same way as the texture files. That way at least you'd have access to all the files. It's no good using the installer the way it is if it doesn't work for you. However I'd like to include a little bit of code to read the variables, so I can pinpoint where it is going wrong, if that's ok. Let me know and I'll email the file to you. You'd just have to copy/paste the results into an email back to me.
