This isnt a sympathy call....just want to show you what my place looked like after the big bang. Remember, i got off lightly compared to a lot of others.
The sheer power of these things is amazing....as i said, my key board took a few days to find....just thrown and buried.....mouse took off.....upside is , Ive found a whole lot of stuff i thought I'd lost winkyy.gif
I havent included any pics of the outside......dont want to identify exactly where i am. A little aside note....i just took one of the girls down to try and pick up her car from a less damaged part of the city (got it) with the help of a nice solider from singapore....but we got a good view of the Grand Chancellor hotel......leaning, my god, that really felt strange.....26 floors .

Anyway....check these out....and Im not having anyone over for dinner for a while tongue.gif

First view

My rats nest

Bathroom

this is interesting...that was a big glass shade on a cord about 2.5 feet long long(old house with high roof) it must have swung enough to hit the roof and break.....glad i was out.

Then i found the mud....

Note the angle of the wall.....not a camera fault

Patio

Pantry

Somewhere in that heap, theres a Tecnics stereo.....

Looks a little better now .......mud is dry and 90% moved....but now we have dust ....major dust....but as they say s**t happens....were alive.

Im selling bottles of the sand , if anybody is interested...... tongue.gif

Cant show you anymore , because some of the people living here arent back yet....and i dont think that would be fair.
Cheers

Marty

Hang in there Marty.

I think everyone around the country is thinking, "Strewth, that could be our place."

In that context, hearing about people diving under tables etc., my wife and I have woken up to the fact that all our tables (including computer
desk) are glass topped, and we can't get under any of the beds. unsure.gif

So much going on here in Tauranga towards the quake relief, heart-warming to see the response.

Great to hear all our NZFF Family are ok. Such a mess, this will take many years to clean up and rebuild.

We just had a 4.6 roll through Welly an hour ago but it was pretty deep compared to Chch. The house did roll a bit though. Can only imagine how bad the big one must have felt.

Keep your chins up, we are all thinking of you and wish we could more to help out.

Will do Bazza....the support from up north is just stunning, and those folks that need it really appreciate it, even if they may not have had a chance to say so. thumbup1.gif New_Zealand_etc.gif
