Time to go, before there's an Inter-Island Incident.
Charter flight takes us over Picton Ferry Terminal (Top Left), and across Marlborough photoreal/GE Pro boundary (Right) ...I was well pleased with that transition.

Into Nelson, an old-time favourite.
I knew that one day, I would have a computer that did not sag at the knees as you blew in here.
Patience is a virtue...

The CV 580 (in FS given a new lease of life by Adrian B, it's an FS2000 model for goodness sakes) was a Dak replacement.
I've flown in both, and the Convair is in a turbine-powered, pressurised, smooth, Other Universe.

Charl , you choice is superb , Adrian Braucsh did a fantastic paint and scheme with the 580s , we , I saw these fly out off Wigram , and man they really could climb out without any problem , guess this happens due to its power eggs of the P3/C130 family . cool.gif

This was going to be a grand farewell to the South Island… westward along the coast, and meet up with a couple of Moth Mates.
An early start, and a sweep out over Farewell Spit and back.

Getting the three yahoo Moth drivers into the same frame proved a little vexing (eat your heart out, Gavin Conroy).
Then the weather closed in, and the trio had to put down on the beach before ever getting out over the sandbanks.
Westpac Rescue came out for a look, but by then the tide had come back in, and so everyone just went home.
**No De Havillands were harmed during the attempted making of this postcard. **

Well...there's gotta be a camera ship, however humble.
In this case, the not-so-humble Seneca, for a cruise up the West coast from Wellington.
Of course, there are other things afoot...

Another sim advantage, you can get all those birds in one spot, past and present:

And so they played, late into the day.
Don't know why, but Parap always seems to get me into a Mustang

Is that Wozza's stang? What have we got there - the Otago, Canterbury (or ZK-TAF), Auckland and Wellington sqns plus Dove of Peace ...and Miss Torque?

I must say that NZPP looks better in FS9 than FSX.

Yup it has a little extra photoreal

Yes - TAF is a yago9 photopaint on Wozza's P51.
Others are repaints of the (then) Shockwave WWII Fighters Mustang by Jan Kees Blom:
RNZAF Museum 'NZ2410', and 'NZ2423', 'NZ2413',
NZ2426 is another yago9 PR on this model
Dove of Peace, yes, no Miss Torque here, I simply forgot that one!

There is no shortage of P-51's in MSFS...at one stage I remember comparing the same paint scheme across 3 different models!

Not the same without Marty here...hope things get together, soon...
But we can let our minds wander a little, aye?
Over the hill to Masterton, then, and some of de Havilland's finest:

Hi Charl,
The crispness of your scenery/aircraft in all the Post cards you have posted are brilliant..........can you tell me what 3rd party programmes (if any) or specific settings
you are running to get such great results? Also how do you get formation flying?
I know that a grunty PC/Video Card is necessary - I think my PC meets those requirements.
Interested in your response
Cheers

I'm happy you like the look of it, thanks Barrington, see here for my setup. I use FSRecorder for the formations.

Yeah yeah...The Old Stick & Rudder Company just had a little fly-in is all.

Actually, the most DH products in the country are registered in Palmerston North (Closely followed by Hamilton!).
This bird is on its way there to roost, with a quick stop in at Foxton, local home of the quaint Jabiru light planes.

I remember the shot...I think Jan Kees could probably paint No. 15 in his sleep by now!
He always preferred the WOP model and thought the Wozzastang too slab-sided.
Probably right, but the photoreal textures more than make up for it in screenshots I reckon.
Looking at Marty's screens I'd agree the WBS is another good 'un.

Now as promised, some more fine product of De Havilland, I'm pleased to have gone down this road as I never had the Dove in these colours previously

Y'have to scroll along for this one, sorry

Palmy is a buzz of aviation activity, not least because it has an entire fleet of Massey University aircraft at hand

One off the first photoreal scenery s was Palmerston North by Clive Ryan dated back to FS2000 heck 11 years on , changed a bit today , airfield buzzing with detail and the aircraft so detailed , Charl i noticed a sound pack for the Devon recently released also it a pity Derek did not make a VC for it .
