Good news about the F4. Am interested to know tho if that NZ domain name really is the "Alphasim freeware site", I mean, is it entitled to distribute those files? Is it run by you? or someone else on nzff.org?

Its the site linked from the old Alphasim webpage for their Official freeware releases, now run/maintained by Virtavia, nothing to do with NZFF. the NZ Link is the creator of Alphasim/Virtavia Phil who is a kiwi

Im an Alpha addict from way back. Its sad to see them gone (original team). Say what you will about their product, but they have made a huge contribution to the flight sim world, and as far as i can see it hasnt been surpassed......great stuff thumbup1.gif

Yep - the Rhino kept me busy within the last weeks, so if anyone of you wants to take some very fast spins over Europe, you might consider my repaints...

AG52 "Panther" (Recce wing) 35+62:

AG51 "Immelmann" 35+63, Tactical Air Meet 1980 special livery:

A guy called Mirko "kroge" Krogmeier of vgaf.net edited two screenshots of my paint, and I think it's nothing less than incredible what he did with them:

Can you smell the JP-4 too?

Cheers,
Markus.

I'll say those last two shots are amazing! Are there any F-4s still flying in Germany?

A little enbseries sure goes a long way...
Great painting Markus! I'll save that one for my next European trip, for sure.
And I'd like to get my hands on the scenery in your 2nd shot too - where's that from?

And while we're asking: tell us the tale behind your excellent little fatman avatar

Thanks, guys!

The amazing scenery is RAF Bruggen, available at AVSIM (filename: acg_raf_bruggen_v2.00.zip):

Made by these:

The story behind the spike-helmet Spook?
It goes like this:
QUOTE
Phantom Man has appeared on numerous service patches, awards, publications, signage, apparel and souvenirs. He has carried a variety of weapons, including pearl-handled pistols for aerial gun-fighting competitions, and worn a variety of costumes depending on which nation he represents. In England, for example, he swaps his slouch hat for a bowler and pipe.[/quote]

@ Naki:
The last Luftwaffe Recce RF-4F were drawn out of service in 1992 (sold to Turkey and Greece), whereas the F-4F of JG71 "Richthofen" are still going strong. They will get replaced by Eurofighters in 2014.

Cheers,
Markus.

Thanks for the link, Markus, and the explanation.
So in Berlin, he gets sneakers and a Kaiser hat?? Nice touch, that. Amazing, the things you learn...

Well, the sneakers are part of the default flightsuit, whereas the Kaiser hat came with the "Germanisation" of the Phantom, just like the bilingual maintenance stencils... laugh.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

I just downloaded and installed this set today...HOLY SHINTO it is amazing! The cockpit just needs a working radar and she'd be perfect.

Loving it. My newest second favourite aircraft now, after my beloved J7 of course. cool.gif plane.gif

I think there's someone working on a fix/better one for the VC in the FS9 version too. I'll see if I can find the forum I saw it on.
