I think I broke it?

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby connor » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:59 pm

I had it running fine (all gauges were normal), take off was normal, went straight (vertical) to FL300 and got too 700kias (putting it through its pace's). But then a host of warning lights came on (Hydraulic pressure, Fuel pressure, gen, etc) and the engine died. Fortunately, because I had gone to FL300 via the vertical method I was only about 30 miles from the airport and was able to glide to the runway without a hitch.

Any ideas on why the engine quit on me? unsure.gif

No it wasn't that, I had to dump fuel to make it back. I took off about 5mins earlier with a full fuel load.

Made me think twice though. biggrin.gif

Yeah it sure is, its a brand new IRIS F-16D. i guess there were some drawbacks for getting it for $5. laugh.gif

Did you have any 'failures' settings on? Or is your 'engine stress causes damage' setting turned on?

Did it come with a manual? It might be so well simulated you can't just jump in and turn it into a space rocket winkyy.gif laugh.gif

I started it up by the manual, as well as taxi and take off. The only thing that I didn't do by the book was the vertical to 30,000 feet.

Maybe I missed a fuel switch or some thing?
