Was a beautiful day in Invercargill yesterday, (there are not many days you can say that...) so I took a look.
I copied the autogen over from Murray Hall's great Invercargill for FS2004, shifted it a bit to align it better (I did mention in another thread that this is like 5 minute's work.)
However what worked for FS2004 doesn't necessarily work for FSX, so this is just a temporary solution, until someone can fully autogen this. Still, it does add a bit.

After much procrastination, I have decided to give scenery design a crack. Im working on redoing the stock invergiggle airport at the moment, but am wholly unsatisfied with the result and would love to have a crack at building a custom Invercargill terminal....

...problem

....I live in Tauranga, a considerable distance from aforementioned terminal.

If anyone has a picture or two of the terminal I would love to hear from you.

Craig
update...ok i have pics of front of terminal, what I really need is one from the tarmac

Here's a screenshot of my "Version" of Invercargill airport.

Terminal has been largely made using images from google earth and a couple of pics I found online. Rejigged the parking a wee bit, roads around the airport and carpark. Front of terminal isnt textured yet, while I await photos of that side, since I have no idea what it looks like. I'd dearly love to redo all the apron buildings including the tower just to add a bit more variety. I've also added in the firestation in a newer version, so that doesn't show in here.

Feedback appreciated.

...oh I probably should have posted this elsewhere, so admin I apologise!

Looks very good. Are you going to model the other buildings along the apron?

Another resource you might find useful is the invercargill city council aerial photo brower, Here Much better quality images than google earth

Would like to do all the buildings, just depends on how successful my research is. First thing, need to get the main terminal finished, hopefully over the weekend.

Funnily enough this project just started as an exercise in lengthening the runway....lol

Thanks for the link, will check it out

Craig , ill do a search for photos or anything i have here , what design program are you using and the photo real scenery , is it Murray Halls ? that area was completely autogened by Murray and looks superb , just needs the airport rebuilt for FSX .

Ian, using airport design editor for scenery placement and gmax for the modelling and yes, Murray Hall's scenery.

I have got some photos coming which have been kindly taken from the tarmac side by morrisman1, but at this point anything would be great. Checked out the City Council site and got a few really good reference pictures from their aerial photos which have cleared a couple of minor things for me.

Thanks everyone for your help and yeah, timmo, im a junkie now, in my mind im about six airports ahead of myself!!!
