The Auckland stuff is back up on Avsim again. This persons website is http://fsxphotoreal.net/ and there is some interesting reading in the forum with him claiming it is is own work, and Avsim accepting it.

Yes, hopefully I can sort this out with Avsim on Monday. As far as I'm concerned, this is part of the same campaign against anyone involved in developing NZ scenery at the moment as the 'Real NZ' landclass released a couple of months ago. That this guy is prepared to brazen it out with Avsim means that he's stepping things up a bit. This, and the previous attempt, are hidden behind anonymous websites, without the normal domain name contacts. I would be very surprised if 'Peter Walker' was his real name.
As an illustration of how piracy works, currently there are 577 downloads of this file on Avsim, probably the same amount from previous uploads on other sites, since removed. Ian Warren did a lot of the original autogen for Supercity, ask him how long it takes to do this sort of thing, and here's a guy slapping his name on it and spreading it around with maybe a day's work involved. As someone pointed out in the previous thread on the 'Real NZ' debacle, it seems strange that someone would be so brazen about this with apparently nothing to gain. This intrigues me, I really do wonder what they have to gain, apart from undermining my business.
Normally I am a bit more understanding of these people, I've been around long enough to know that this kind of behaviour is normally associated with people who perceive themselves as losers, and want to be part of something with a good reputation, but I don't think that's the case this time around.
It seems comical really that New Zealand has become a real battle zone in the flightsim community. It seems such a tiny little place to fight over. Either someone is trying to undermine us, or someone really wants to be me. Sometimes I don't even want to be me, so I can't see the attraction. I work for the equivalent of the minimum wage producing NZ scenery, certainly not for the money, and put up with all sorts of rubbish like this, if someone wants my life they should just come out and say so, I'll do a swap...
I did try to sign up to the guy's 'forum', but haven't been approved yet, so I really think I need to reply here. So, Peter Walker, please get in touch with me and let me know what the hell you are playing at.

Absolutely not. However it doesn't include autogen.
There is no issue with the aerial image in the NZAA scenery -- this is freely available from the LINZ site. Only the autogen is mine.
And in case anyone asks about 'Peter's' comment about who exactly owns this autogen, it's simple. I own it. Some of it was created by Ian Warren, who does a lot of autogen for me and others. But it belongs to me. Couldn't be simpler.
However Ian does own the right to be offended by this, as he worked a lot of hours to create this.

And twice that the screenshots here are gone the next day, apparently based on Bad Guys' Work.
There isn't going to be a third time, as I've uninstalled FSX, as the only sure way to flush out all that cr@p.
As I said previously, it's completely baffling that anyone would take the time...equally baffling that AVSIM won't pull the files as a matter of course.
When I had a (totally spurious and spiteful) complaint lodged about one of my uploads, they pulled the files and refused to put them back while the complainant lived.
I guess the hobby has its share of inconsistent and/or unstable personalities.
I wonder who p!ssed this one off?
Charl, i feel the same now.....Im worried that some of the "freeware" Ive collected over time....may not be so free after all. Jeez , always some plonker to stress out what should be a relaxing hobby. I dont really follow all the tech talk between the guys, but i can feel for them.....just not sure what to do .

Marty and Charl -- it shouldn't be your concern, it's really up to the legitimate owners of the 'product' to sort it out. That's the way I like to see it work, which is why I check these new releases out pretty quickly to make sure that they are ok. I'm a bit devastated by Charl's comment about removing FSX -- Charl was quick to point out that maybe someone has another motive other than just a bit of piracy, and I've come to believe this completely -- someone is working hard to undermine the local community here, and if Charl has given up on FSX then that's a win for them.
