Hold on to your hats guys, here is the long awaited update for the A2A sims aircraft in development. All I can say is... well I'm speechless. I feel sorry for those guys who have decided to wait fsx out for a newer sim. Boy are they goin to miss out big time.

A person only "misses out" if they wanted the thing in the first place. FSX is finally "coming of age", but it's still a badly-written sim with lots of holes and problems. And how is a person's staying where they are and enjoying what they have "missing out"?

I agree that the A2A aircraft are nice. A few things to note:
- For those who enjoy flying and scenery, the A2A aircraft / FSX are not relevant per se. If I'm more interested in the ground I'm passing over, the "prettiness" of the aircraft is moot
- A2A has had to "change" FSX in order to get their aircraft to look / sound good. This just goes to reinforce how bad FSX is.
- One is having to spend some serious dosh just to get a small part of the FSX experience close to where it should be.
- Due to the way A2A designs their stuff modularly, it will work in other sims as well (according to their video)

However, I most certainly agree with your statement about the A2A developments - those guys sure now how to design and build a digital aircraft! ohmy.gif

I have none of their work in my hanger, but wow that really is amazing. Good on them for their good work. That's really impressive.

A2A's stuff is like a simulation within a simulation. They provide a fully dynamic simulation af a particular aircraft down to every detail. Its the closest thing to having a real flying experience - is that not what everyone wants? otherwise go and play an arcade game. winkyy.gif
The accusim merlin will even wear at different rates depending on what SAE spec oil you choose to run in it for different climates. Every thing you do wrong in these aircraft will have a consequence. I know they mostly do warbirds but if your into these type of planes they are well worth the money. It will take your flightsim experience to a whole new level. It did for me anyway when I bought their P-47.

That Phantom is something I'm really looking forward to. A2A have mastered the prop, I'm just really curious to see how that's going to transfer to a turbine....maybe I should do my BGT before jumping into that thing winkyy.gif

I'm sure the phantom wont disapoint. Ian, the only reason I havnt bought the Fortress is that I dont have enough free time to do it justice. It takes 10 mins to get the Jug up and running to operating temps let alone 4 engines, and I love those 10 min's. Maybe I could just get the crew to get the B-17 fired up and ready while I change my kids nappie? dry.gif now thats a thought.

B-17 warm up is very short, 5 min max in New Zealand weather.
