Virtual Warbirds Over Wanaka Airshow 2011!

Read and report on flightsim developers progress of upcoming or completed products

Postby MaarkenEdwards » Mon Oct 04, 2010 2:01 pm

Hey folks,
Next year i am planning to have a virtual version of the 'Warbirds over Wanaka' Annual airshow, I figured that this would be the best place to announce this due to the fact that fellow New Zealanders would appreciate an opportunity to star in an event such as this, if anyone is interested in joining or want to help plan this event (would be much appreciated) please post a reply on what aircraft you would like to show, what time period you would be available to fly, and last but not least your name and email address.

Thanks,
Maarken.

thanks smile.gif, yeah, my friend ligerox is starring in a HE-111 Bomber and a Hawker Hunter trainer, i am flying the YAK-52, but still need a full team to hopefully re-create the 'yakrobats' aerobatic display syndicate, but i have a small amount of aircraft that will be needed to star in the show

Supermarine Spifire
Vought Corsair
De Havilland Tiger moth
Focke Wulf FW-190-A8
Messershmitt BF-109 (ME-109)
North American P-47 Razorback
Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk
Virtual RNZAF Red Checkers display team (if they are available)
Grumman AgCat
North American T-28 Trojan
North American P-51 Mustang
C-130 Hercules

There are more to come, so i will keep you guys posted,

Thanks,
Maarken.

yes the hunter is by dave, as for the BF-109, A2A simulations has one so does flight replicas, and there is a payware AgCat somewhere, its just not well known, my friend used to have it, but really there is no need to rush, still rather far away the date smile.gif

Hey smile.gif, that would be awesome mate, if you want you can fly the Yak too, due to the fact i need a whole team etc. And i will have to see about the orion, but theres a big chance that i will have it in there for ya, i was thinking, if we had the orion in there, we could also have, in formation or pursuit, the Kaman Seasprite and the Douglas A-4 Skyraider smile.gif Skyraiders from RAZBAM

Tim Conrad will fill the spot for the Sky Raider , RAZBAMs Raider need work on it now , over four years old now .

Great idea smile.gif Just winding open the hangar doors...now, lets see...OK I could provide some Chipmunks (my preference would be the BoB Flight a/c), The RNZAF 757 (CS), the AS Hunter F6 or FGA9 (IMHO one of the best flight sim models out there), a Westland Wyvern (FW), Hornets (FW)...and how about a F4K Phantom (Iris) .... or the mighty Vulcan!

I'd be keen to participate in a display team too but I can tell you from experience that it will take a LOT of practice so prep needs to commence now!

dartls over..

Havnt even heard as much as a whisper about a Huey?
Whats wrong with you all!! tongue.gif

Nemeth Designs can cover that, with the RNZAF repaint out there somewhere.

Sounds good!!! Its your choice if you want to participate in the Yak team, if i can get the members together, i am more than willing to make that a main act, if we get three or less aircraft, i will use the yaks for a battle re-enactment, though we do have a dogfight between a Yak and a BF-109.... Dont ask how me and ligerox got that barbaric idea... but hey it might work smile.gif

I'll be happy to fly the Huey! I have it in RNZAF (Nemith) colours and I'm a closet heli freak and without blowing my trumpet too hard, i'm not so bad a pilot either. I fly RC whirlybirds so thats my background.

Maybee while we were waiting for a time slot you could walk around as a Orbx Bob spectator. Does any one know if bob has a body? maybe you could swap out his face texture with a pic of your self. Now that would be a laugh and a half.
