RNZAF King Air

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Charl » Wed Sep 08, 2010 10:41 am

Owners of the Aeroworx bird will be pleased to hear that I have at length found someone willing to paint RNZAF colours for it!

Morné Peters has made some excellent progress so far, and will release it...Soon
WIP:

Markus has very kindly made his AFG 300 templates available to speed up the process, many thanks!

oh Charl if youd only but asked I couldve saved you the agony long time ago , I repainted the Aeroworx B200 couple years back just never uploaded it !. Nevermind I had also repainted the VC Instrument panel to reflect the RNZAF's real aircraft if Morné wants it for his release ..

Proof the fact you install and keep FS9 it , still very many addons that can be used , you may see many luxury scenery,s and many aircraft and maybe a rush to FSX , "I've been waiting years!" says it all . cool.gif

Glad I could help!

But isn't funny that it takes a South African painter, using templates "Made in Germany" to make a NZ repaint?
What the hell would we do without the Internet...? laugh.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

At flightsim.com:
FS2004 RNZAF Beechcraft King Air B200
Name: aeroworx_king_air_b200v21_rnzaf_kingair_nz1885.zip Size: 5,268,574 Date: 09-20-2010
FS2004 RNZAF Beechcraft King Air B200 v2.1 RNZAF 42 Sqn NZ1885. This repaint is for the Aeroworx Aviation X-treme King Air B200 in the colors of the Royal New Zealand Air Force 42 Squadron NZ1885. A very big thank you to Wild Bill Kelso for all his help in supplying his AFG 300 templates. Includes screen shots and a real photo of the repaint so you can get a good perspective of how it looks. Repaint by Morne Pieters.

OK...last look, a little Real v Sim.
After looking at it a little, I've tweaked the repaint's Alpha on spinner and intakes.

I see I didn't quite match the blades pitch, my fault, not the model...
This remains one of the all-time great Flight Simulator models, a lifetime commitment.

...There!

Aside:
I do love the realism of this aircraft, but miss the FS9 GPS.
SO, there's a little file which brings it into the cockpit:
Jimmy R Martin's askab200.zip available at the usual places.

Looks amazing!...Where can I get the model and textures from? I am guessing the model at least is payware?

Also, is it just for FS9?

It's the superb Aerowork B200, available from flight1. http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=b200

Yes for FS9 only, PMDG (I think it was) took over the code to do an FSX version but some of the people who were expected to come with the code to work on it didn't ... we are assured that the FSX version isn't dead, just resting ...

Yet another reason to keep FS9 on the machine biggrin.gif

Thank yuo very much Charl !

Breathtaking shots!

The model indeed looks stunning. Too bad the texture mapping doesn't allow to apply the nose gear door number, but the bulleyes look much "rounder" than the AFG model's do...

Cheers,
Markus.

Uploaded to flightsim.com:
aeroworx_king_air_b200v22_rnzaf_kingair_nz1885
FS2004 RNZAF Beechcraft King Air B200 v2.2 RNZAF 42 Sqn NZ1885. This package lets you add any of 3 goodies to the superb repaint by Morne Pieters (aeroworx_king_air_b200v21_rnzaf_kingair_nz1885.zip).
First: the bright metal bits, like prop spinners, are now highly polished.
Second: Adrian Brausch painted the panels in RNZAF blue.
Third: Adrian brought the FS9 GPS into the panel.
A great collaborative effort from four countries to make this wonderful model even better.

This is now probably the best flightsim experience I've had.

As a little addition I forgot I had redone the suspension so the Kingair now sits properly if anyone wants to use it. Remenber to make a backup of the aircraft.cfg before changing anything !.
