Its getting pretty damn close. Look how far we have come from the first versions of FS.

True, we are a lot closer. I still remember my first "flying experience" on my 48KB (that's Kilobytes, not Megabytes) ZX Spectrum. The ground was dark blue, the sky was light blue, and a loose conglomeration of dots defined the horizon, "mountains" and a rectangle of dots for the runway. There was no external view. And I think there were 2 aircraft - a Cessna and a 747! Oh, and at night everything was black and one had to remember which way was "up". If the moon was up (a yellow circle), that helped... tongue.gif laugh.gif

I remember those days. I was just a young fella. in retrospect though, 10 years ago, everyone was developing flight sims, civil and combat, the last 5 or more there's only been a couple of civil sims and its like the development of civil flightsims has been in slow motion, getting left behind in the dust compared to modern pc and console games in terms of taking advantage of modern computing power.
