default FSX snow textures

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

gidday all, does anyone know which bmps are responsible for thye really really crappy deafult ground snow textures which look like a chequered blanket when flying ? . I would like to just make all my default snow pretty much white without the orrible badly repeating rocks showing wacko.gif

Is ok, searched flightsim.com found a replacement snow set,..didnt like em but found which ones were the culprits. They were 001b2su1.bmp, 001b2su2.bmp, 001b2su3.bmp , 001b2su4.bmp, and 001b2su5.bmp found in the scenery/world/texture folder. I used 001b2wi1.bmp thru *wi5 bmps copied and renamed them to the 001b2su1-*5 series and now have white snow and no patchwork quilt ! yay

Adrian , I think you will be more that impressed to see VLC snow textures cool.gif

That's true, but just to clarify that VLC doesn't change these textures. What is does is break up the normal endless textures with a lot more detail, so you won't see anywhere near as many monotonous repeated patterns.
