Sneak preview:
ZK-CDK, basing on Milton Shupe's amazing Aero Commander 680S

Still a lot to do...

Very sorry had closer look and it is a 680 just with the shrikes engines,..pity Mr Shupe doesnt make the 680F,...shrike would be perfect except for the pointy nose !

Looks sooper dooper Markus! Was looking at some of your other repaints on Avsim, you've certainly produced some mighty fine work. Keep it up! punk.gif

But it's the 680's stub nose I particulary love about this version!
And isn't the Shrike equipped with winglets? Don't like'em...

Thanks, Mavman.
AVSIM doesn't hold all my stuff (due to their breakdown), but anything I ever released (except the Turbo Commander's repaint) is available at Flightsim.com. Lots of Maple Leafs there...

Cheers,
Markus.

Well, folks:
I think it's done!

And if you consider to obtain the real one:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/A...n-300437684.htm

Those curved tapering cheatlines turned out to be a real nightmare, but I think this should do...

Just some final checking and packing, should be up in a few days!

Cheers,
Markus.

A fantastic effort yet again Markus, thanks for showing such a keen interest in NZ aviation and rewarding us with your stunning repaints! Hope we see plenty more from you in the future smile.gif

Thanks, mate!

I think it will be no surprise that ZK-CDK in its pre-2003 livery, shown here:

http://www.wings.net.nz/0207056.html

is on the top of my list!

Just have to collect some more reference pics...

Cheers,
Markus.

Good work, Markus!
Those cheat lines are a PITA when you drape them on the model, eh?
Of course, the back-to-back flight had to happen...
Here we are in Hawkes Bay - Lawrie's Napier actually, which is as close as I have to home base Hastings in my sim.

I came away surprised.
Although you could argue about which of the liveries looks better, the Veneaviones Turbo Commander is my preference, in every way.

Great shots as always Charl! And you beat me to it with the screenies, I was planning a flight tonight from homebase NZHS which incidentally Goff has produced for FS9 and can be found here.

I'd love to be able to buy the real ZK-CDK....been on trademe for ages.

Now these are very amazing shots, Charl! clapping.gif
I wish I had the time to play with FSRecorder... laugh.gif

Presuming that you didn't mean the flat bread of Mediterranean origin, these lines indeed were a PITA!
But the pain is gone... winkyy.gif

Comparing both Commanders is a little unfair:
The Veneaviones bird's fuselage consists of two files, so there are 2048 pixels to spread the colours upon, whereas Milton's fuselage is just 1024 px long.
For a mid-sized GA aircraft, those 2048 px are quite spacious.
But I have to admit that the 690's modeling is very smooth - must be a tremendous number of polygons build in...
After all, we do compare a 1:72 scale kit model to a 1:32 giant! rolleyes.gif

Concerning the pre-2003 livery of CDK , shown here:

http://www.wings.net.nz/aerialmap.html
http://www.wings.net.nz/0207056.html

I posted a request at rnzaf.proboards.com
http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?actio...mp;thread=11505
but got no answer yet.
Could anyone here help me out please?

Cheers,
Markus.

Thanks, Ian!

Here's a first work-in-progress shot of the 1977 appearance:

Hard to tell from the black-and-white pic, shown here:
http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?actio...1505&page=1

or even from this one:
http://www.wings.net.nz/0207056.html

if the two upper cheatlines actually were black (or dark red?).

Can anyone confirm this please?

Cheers,
Markus.

Now that I've received permission to use the photograph, here comes the real one:

Considering this pic, I'd tend to say the upper two cheatlines were black, but the pic at the wings.net.nz link leaves the question unanswered... unsure.gif
