It is nice to see the old TEAL , as strange when they changed the old fern with a kiwi in the RNZAF roundel , deleting one name to become Air New Zealand , TEAL always was Electra the DC-8 , but off course the flying boats .

Bring them back!! Far better aircraft to look at (and probably fly in) than the plastic tubes made by Airbus etc. now. Something about a prop airliner that makes it look right.

smooth landings.

Nothing comes near that very distinctive sound of those four RR Dart Argosy engines under full power as climbing out from an airport.
Other great sounds are the F27 and the changing pitch in the sound of the Hawker Siddley 748 and Andovers as they wind up to full power.

My first flight was in a f27, Still think of it fondly, I think it was the orange scheme though. I remember my grandad stealing me a cup and spoon with the teac I think it was symbol.

Sigh, those were the days.
When asked what I have contributed to on this earth my reply will be my daugther

Yeah Im old enough to remember four Darts on the Argosys and I love the sound of them winding up ...been on a Friendship quite a few times too.

The 787 is suppose to have quite big windows but it wont be as big as a Viscounts.

The 748's window is about the same size as the Friendships. smile.gif

The Viscount was a lot bigger than it looks as the large widow made it look smaller.

The opposite to the NAMC that looks very big due to it's small windows.

I loved the sound of the Argosy and Viscounts opening up as the props went through the set pitch changes slightly out of sync........also when taxying how they opened up all four to the first pitch stop then immediately throttled two back and slightly increased on the remaining two.........wonderful sounds wub.gif

Lucky one!
I had my first flight at age 10 in a BEA 1-11 (from Berlin to Hannover, back in 1976).
Made me nearly deaf for the rest of my youth... laugh.gif

Concerning the lovely Electra:
Great aircraft, wrong sim!
Too bad that FSKBT made it FSX only... sad.gif
Awesome repaint anyway! clapping.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

My first international flight was in an Electra from Wellington to Sydney as a 5 year old. Somewhere in all my fathers stuff is a picture of me sitting in the Captains seat mid Tasman.

Garry, in a past life i drove tour coaches for a few seasons, and it never ceased to amaze me....not just kids.....but all sizes. Close the door....and the cutains are pulled!!
I used to wake them up when passing Mt Cook (on a good day) or stop and get out and take a picture for myself.......i was very rarely joined by anybody......only interested in getting to the next duty free shop. In the end i gave up.....chc -zqn direct........oh, you need a toilet stop....to bad....next bog is 400km away winkyy.gif
