No credit at all to me for this, but I have been reading the Islander forum over at flight1.com Saw a few postings about poor landing light effects on the Islander, so I thought that I would copy the adjustments here for all of us to try out. Thanks to Jim Hodkinson for his figures on the adjustments. I will copy his reply here in its entirity. More info on the Flight1.com forum, with a section especially for the Islander.

Hi Steve

First of all before anything else, I just wanted to say that although I have added shockwave lights to the Islander, it is only for my own visual fun, and not because of any problem with the originals, so after saying that, if you wanted to add either Shockwave or the standard FSX landing light effect then you could try adding the following entries to the [LIGHTS] section of the Islanders aircraft.cfg file..

Before you go any further PLEASE remember to backup your original files just in case anything goes pear shaped, and also this modification is in no way supported by either Flight1 or Virtavia.

For the Shockwave entries

light.7 = 5, 1.10, -22.00, 2.00, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short, // Left wingtip Landing Light

light.8 = 5, 1.10, 22.00, 2.00, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short, // Right wingtip Landing Light

And although I have not tried them you could try the following for the standard FSX landing lights..

light.7 = 5, 1.10, -22.00, 2.00, fx_landing ,

light.8 = 5, 1.10, 22.00, 2.00, fx_landing ,

These entries are as close as I can get them at the moment, although I MAY tweak them a little more but to be honest I am having to much fun flying her.

I hope it is of some use.

Jim Hodkinson
