lol yea iive tryed to go into google earth and whereever there is a river going into the sea I check if it looks like that but to no success!

Its in Canterbury.... but maybe not in the Christchurch / Canterbury photoreal.... I'm not sure how far NORTH it goes, may be in another photoreal winkyy.gif

Yeah I was gona say Gore Bay, just went there last week, walked part way down the beach heading south, could see the bluffs, but didnt get close enough to them so say for sure

I'll give it to you, answer is Napenape. Here's a bigger pic showing Napenape to the left, Hurunui River Mouth in the middle and Port Robinson and Gore Bay to the right.

Oh and a big photoreal/non-photoreal transition across the whole picture.

That looks very similar to that B-17 Base they nearly commissioned during WWII in mid Canterbury , sorta just a little bit outside Ashburton ninja.gif

I was not to say the old Weddons airstrip , another old base uesd by US Navy personel during the 1954-55 Operation back in the day 'James Bond' flew gyrocopter,s ninja.gif

How about, at a place called Te Pirita, in the Selwyn / Rakaia area..................
Built in 1942, by the Public Works Department and the RNZAF, comprising 2x 2,135 metre stablilised grass runways.
