Ive also had a look at this with the Hamilton x runway ,just giving a little light on a night map texture for the runway ,does help abit to define the runway as you come in, the taxi aprons are done the same with little amounts of light under the lightpoles etc, giving it a over all lights are on look .

im not sure how this could be done with FSX default textures or even if it would look ok ,there are alot of addons that enhance these features ,even playing with the default runway lighting effects in notepad could brighten things up ,you just never know what will work best until you try mucking around ..

"Warning "always back up the files you are playing with ,saves alot of problems down the track ..

As a matter of interest - I spoke to a friend of mine that flies BAe146's around Europe. he says the runway lights themselves are often quite dim (pilots prefer it that way) - apart from maybe the runway threshold. As to lights around the airport itself - that seems to vary. He admitted he's flown right past the airport on a couple of occasions. He flies freight, so no-one notices winkyy.gif

So .. the upshot is that FS2004/FSX gets it about right <?>.

I'll take some screenies today if I get a chance. What I've seen already with REX 2.0 I am impressed with. Haven't checked out the airport night lighting yet.

Thanks for doing those. It does look significantly different/better to what I remember. I'll do a night approach in mine to jog my memory! Looks like another brick in the wall of "I gotta go get REX!" winkyy.gif
