Frost Fighting helicopters 2009

Here are a few photos from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night and mornings.
A bit buggered now but worth the effort.

I caught up with well known photographer Neville Dawson over those two days and he can be seen in the photo below.
Neville owns two helicopter magazines and following some good times, I will be taking more helicopter photos for him so looking forward to it.

Neville is very keen and good to see another person who doesnt mind getting up in the dark to get in the right position to photograph helicopters.

Nice set, the pilot in the last photo is a friend of mine, I taught him how to fly many years ago. I used to live in Hawkes Bay in the 90's and our back yard would be full of 500's and JR's by the time night fell if we were expecting frosts during the season.

Blake , you have the Nemeth 500 .. must be time for some photoreal paints smile.gif , great photo's Gavin , Neville .. i recall a poster of a P47 many years ago i put up on the wall at old work place , a teardrop 47D .

Hughes 500 city !!! Looks like another frost Sat night / sunday morning. Might have to take the young fella out to Omaka chopper spotting tommorrow arvo.

Yep and the season is only just starting. I may be over there flying an R22 or a H300 in the next week.
