Hi all, I'm new here
My Name's Brendan, I'm a high school student from Howick, in Manukau!
I lent my FSX disk to 2 friends, and they're loving it, so I've re-installed it (it didn't install properly originally, and I could only play for 30 minutes at a time D:), and it works! Hooray!
Anyway, aforementioned friends and I have decided to do a "'Round the World Tour" which has a very early draft itinerary (we'll probably fly it in November/December of:

New Zealand –Australia –New Caledonia– Vanuatu – Solomon Islands – Papua New Guinea – Indonesia – Malaysia – Singapore – Malaysia – Thailand – Myanmar – Bangladesh – Nepal – India – Pakistan – Afghanistan – Iran – UAE – Saudi Arabia – Jordan – Israel – Lebanon – Cyprus – Turkey – Greece – Albania – Italy – Switzerland – Germany – France – Belgium – England – Wales – Ireland – Northern Ireland – Scotland – Faroe Islands – Iceland – Greenland – Canada – USA – Mexico – Cuba – Haiti – Dominican Republic – Puerto Rico – Venezuela – Brazil – Peru – Chile – Antarctica – New Zealand

The actual Airports/Airfields are still TBC, as are aircraft, but we will be doing this with full realism, and Real Time Weather.
I'm playing Trumpet, Baritone and Tenor Horn in a show in Pukekohe which opens on 29/08 and I've been doing rehearsal piano for that too, so when I get paid, I plan on Replacing my (Rather battered by now) Logitech Attack 3 with an X52

Comments are appreciated, and wish me luck!

Brendan

Welcome aboard mate smile.gif
If you want to try the Mother of all World Tours, have a look here
Have a browse through the forums there and get the server password... just over 1000 hops between destinations, and the regulars there are a great bunch.
It'll remember your last successful arrival at a destination and give you the heading, distance and ICAO code for your next destination - you wont have to save a flight to start in the right place thumbup1.gif

sounds cool, but unfortunately I'm running FSX, not FS9.
I'm thinking of heading south from the UAE and heading along the east cost of Africa before going north along the west Coast, and then into Europe from there. More Additions in the decision stages are whether or not we stop in Chile or head through Antarctica to NZ, or if we should stop off on Norfolk Island before Sydney

Never fear, it works just fine with X... Rather than shagging around with the Gamespy or whatever the muliplayer portal is called in X, google for FSHost Client by Hotchocolate software, its a small freeware app that allows simple, quick connection to MP servers smile.gif
I've spent many hours on the servers using both X and 9, while the others on the server were using a mixture of X and 9... no problems, no glitches!

I got FSHost the other day (before I actually re-installed FSX!) and I'm planning on exploring on and offline.
We're planning on completing the tour via LAN to cut down on Lag

Yeah, that would work... personally I've never found lag to be an issue (ping times on that server are stable at around 300ms) - good enough for a tight box formation of 15 B-17/B-24s in real-world weather anyway winkyy.gif

Sounds Awesome.
On a side note, the laptop which I installed FSX on is giving me an error, apparently it can't find MSXML4 SP2, and when I downloaded and tried to install that, the install failed, so I'm going to get a friend to download it and give it to me on a FlashDrive, so all should be well.

Hi ya Brendan , your best to get your mates to by their own copy of FSX , what is going to happen is if your both online or one at any one time , the newest installed copy will only run for a so called trial period or will cause a conflict and other head aches , you then run out registration time or amount of times it has been install cause you to have to phone to register .
