Just found this new Payware Photoreal Scenery.. it's worth a look but not cheap at all.

http://www.fsaltitude.com/aus.htm

Scenery specifications:
Australia / New Zeland - about 8 Millions km2
Optimized and recolorized 14.25 m/pixels ground textures
Cloud coverage < 0.01%

Anyone seen or tried this: FS Altitude - Australia/New Zealand

Saw the announcement on the front page of AVSIM... supposed to make things look nice from 6000' and above....

EDIT: thanks for the merge Robin... I saw the other topic after I worked my way down the new posts... was going to send a message to merge them and got sidetracked smile.gif

The screenshots on their site are quite interesting -- a few shots show New Zealand (although labelled 'Australia'), with shots from Marlborough/Cook Strait, and the volcanic plateau, and some of the Southern Alps. It would be interesting to see how the transition to normal textures works. This is the sort of thing I'd normally buy just to have a look at, but EUR50 it becomes a major purchase, so I won't bother. If I flew high, though, I'd be a bit more interested.

EDIT: I've merged these two topics.

I just compared prices and EUR50 is not all that bad ($110 NZD) but checking the price of the new FTX SP3 that is about to be released at $224 NZD plus the price they might charge for FTX NZ we could be looking at around $300 NZD so it makes the "FS Altitude" look good at $110 NZD for the same area coverage.

Do be mindful that the FS Altitude stuff only works above 6000' apparently... no good if you're low and slow winkyy.gif
