I was down in Wellington yesterday and went out to the airport for a look. It was bloody windy and had just stopped raining. There was a TV3 camera man taking footage (probably hoping for some shots of dodgy landings) while I was up there.

What? Our weather was lovely! Nah at 9am, it smattered down. Though I was inside nice warm and dry - the rain missed me but it was sunny in the afternoon!

The first one is landing and the second is taking off right?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Yup
The photos were taken around 12:30. I had the day off - It was raining / drizzling earlier in the morning when I was in town shopping.
Its not bad a spot up on Wexford Rd to take photos. I could do with a bigger lens to get to the other end of the runway. These were taken with a 300mm and are a wee bit soft because I was at max zoom and cropped the photos closer.

The runway spray in the second shot makes the 73 look like it's powered by rockets or something. Awesome photography Trev thumbup1.gif

Yes the weather cleared nicely and luckily the wind died away, the morning was pretty shocking. I flew to Blenheim with Air2there at 5.50pm on Friday and it was a smooth flight. Not sure what it will be like flying back over to Welly at 6pm tonight though! Twas a howling gale here in Blenheim last night.
I have been working in Wellington for 11 months now and flying over and back every week. Only ever had one flight cancelled and one divert to Paraparaumu rather than Wellington, so all in all its a pretty good strike rate.
