For those wanting to donate to Avsim just look to the top right corner,there is a button with donate on it,on their temporary site.Donations are coming in thick and fast at the moment and Tom has said that they are going to get the site up and running again which is great news.

Well,........... these posts have certainly paid off for me,.................
I had an e-mail earlier this evening from a fellow NZFF member who has collected EVERYTHING i have ever done, both in New Zealand and overseas, and is putting it all onto disc and posting it to me on Friday.
He wishes to remain anonymous, but you know who you are,............ THANK-YOU !!!
Now all ive got to do is figure out who im going to host them all with now, and laboriously upload them all again !!
Im thinking of probably Simviation or SimOuthouse..............

That was actually my first thought Ian,.............. but it means id have to re-package EVERY single thing ive done !
The filenames of the zips are TOO LONG for Flightsim.com,.................
They only allow a total of 8 characters in the filename before the .zip file extension.
The other sites i mentioned are quite happy with the filenames as they are,.......... same as Avsim was.

quite simply , Waikato .. all scenery for that area done .. Otago , Canterbury and so on , the airports bgl.s wont be affected by each others in fact makes it easier for the end user , and since they use librairy files or textures but off course any feild that has a unique texture is simply named to suit , easy to package all in one region !

Hmmm,.............. you sound like youve been talking to Charl.
He's been at me for some time now ( and a few others) to do regional compendiums of all my scenery.
The thought IS in mind matey,.......... but im kinda holding off on putting it all together, as i still have a few more sceneries i want to complete in various parts of NZ.

If i do make up compendiums of them all, i had thought of dividing it all up into 5 distinct files...............

Commercial Airports-North Island.
Commercial Airports-South Island.
General Aviation Airfields-North Island.
General Aviation Airfields-South Island.
NZ Military Airports.

Idea , break it up into regions , this means you can target specific projects thus keeping a regional GA pilot happy .. and the councils

Regional sounds ok,.......... like to keep them pilots happy............
Bugger the councils mate !!

Separate them all something like.............

Northland and Auckland.
Coromandel Peninsula.
Waikato and King Country.
Bay of Plenty.
Taranaki and Manawatu.
Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Central North Island.
........... and so on..............

Commercial and GA feilds all together in each region ???...........

Best to , from there you can carpet the area and for any addon .. can be simply added .. landmark and such .... oh yeah ... STUFF the COUNCILS
