Weekend in Christchurch

Hi Folks,

Been a long time since I posted anything let alone photos, but this past weekend I flew up to Christchurch from Dunedin to visit some friends including "Albatross" aka Alister Curnow. Here's some photos from my journey.

Mainland air C152 taxing for T/O.


My aircraft arriving after the short hop from Christchurch.

Taxing back to the terminal.




On the gate. Now the mad dash to get the aircraft turned around & ready to head back to Christchurch.


Mount Cook arriving as we get ready to depart, I wonder who will make it to Christchurch first???

Breaking through the cloud as we turn left towards Christchurch.

Cold, wet and miserable day in Christchurch, so no outside spotting, following photos taken from inside the terminal.

Nice shots mate. How were the loads on the pac blue flight from Dunedin?

Interesting Photos!

The fourth photo down, of the bluebird taxing back, you can see the thrust reverses still open (I'm guessing at idle though).

I wonder why that is?

Flight up was packed @ 160 pax. Coming home was only about 40 pax, awesome flight home though with extreme turbulence, and the pilots had a tough time getting the the bird onto the runway.

Oh come on! It's all relative....... We can't really complain about the weather here. We get 4 distinct seasons, this one happens to be late Autumn.........therefore it's a bit wet.

Love that first out the window shot, and the following in flight looking down at the cloud photos- always fascinates me how different everything looks at altitude compared to down at the ground.

Thanks for enjoying the pics everyone, what you guys don't see is the awesome turbulence which we encountered during the flights, "sigh" if only you to re-create that somehow? Extremely fun none the less.

Probably was speeding on the back track and needed to slow quickly, was there another aircraft on approach??
