Bludy brilliant... good work. Keep us posted if they let you know they are starting work on it.

Just received confirmation today that Premier Aircraft are indeed going for the Alpha/Robin.
They have said to me that an ETA for the release will probably be July.
In the meantime I have sent them a full Alpha 160A flight manual, and will be busy photographing and videoing different parts of the aircraft for the design team.
So for the many of you out there that fly this aircraft - good news lies ahead!
And for the many that will be training on this aircraft in times to come, enjoy!

Will keep you updated with news as it comes to hand.

Progress:
Premier Aircraft have completed a basic external model of the Alpha/Robin.
Basically the skeleton without finer details

I haven't had anything to do with creating an aircraft for FS so if any of you can see any glaring errors/omissions/changes etc please please let me know so I can pass these on.
As I said before, this is ONLY the early work in progress - the basic external design...
But it's looking very good!

I've been sent a rough beta to test - basic 2D cockpit, and shell of aircraft as above - all in fs9 format to begin with.
Is there anyone here I can send the files to help test functionality? I have FSX which isnt the best for testing FS9 aircraft.
Preferably someone here who designs on FS and knows the ins and outs of design (i.e. not just a FS user)
I need to keep sending them back opinions and I would prefer help testing with an expert?
Any takers?

The progress pictures are looking awesome! We'll have to see if we can get Premier Aircraft to give away a copy once released as a prize for the screenshot competition!

It will be freeware Andrew (I presume it will be anyway as all their other stuff is)!

**Latest update**

Looking at a late June/Early July release.
Testing is going well, and Im sure trainee pilots/instructors will be particulary imressed with fully functioning VC.
Here are a few screenshots of the exterior (interior shots coming soon)

Now just cant wait for Creator 2003's Hamiton X to be released to get the 'Real Hamilton' feel!!

Yes as Faville has pointed out, the Robin/Alpha is FINALLY ready for download.
The guys at PAD have done a great job on this puppy! It has been an interesting process helping to test and offer feedback along the design process.
The guys at PAD were very accommodating with any suggestions and modifications needed.
Please post your comments and thoughts on the Robin/Alpha here in the forum and also to the PAD guys for further updates/releases/fixes.
You can download an FSX version:
http://www.premaircraft.com/robin_alpha_FSX/index.html
or an FS9 version:
http://www.premaircraft.com/robin_alpha_FS9/index.html

The download package comes with 3 liveries as shown on the download page:
Blue/white livery for the French Robin
Red/White livery for British Robin
CTC Aviation colours for NZ Alpha version

Good to see the NZers getting a livery!!

Anyway - please post your feedback as mentioned above - would love to hear what you think...

This is a great freeware addition - very similar in many respects to their Socata Trinidad and Tobago. The VC gives a real "left-hand' feeling but the gauges etc don't quite have that "payware" realism.

I can see this being a very popular download especially considering it's local use. Good stuff.

Do you know if there is a paint kit available for these Alphas? I'd like to make up a Southern Wings livery just like the ones at work. Would be rather neat smile.gif

Hi there,
Not sure about that sorry, I'll email the designers and ask if they can provide one for you.

Appparently an Asian company has bought Alpha and production will be restarted in Hamilton -- hopefully this is true.

Yeah it all seems to be legit:

They're just not sure if theyre gona keep making 160A...
I think they prob will though - it seems to be the reason behind Alpha Aviation making 2 seater trainers originally.
