Hey guys,

Well - I visited Wellington yesterday. Spent some time in the city, which was really lovely, then took the bus back to the airport to do some spotting. It was a god awful day, Especially standing up on the rocks near Lyall Bay, so I could only spend around an hour out there. I hoped I wasnt doing anything Illegal, especially having this old guy wave his fist at me - but the Airport Security and the Cops drove past and didnt seem to care, so thanks to Kelburn for helping me out on the facilities.

Few up on Eagle, and back on Sounds Air. I encourage all of you to fly Sounds Air, it was bloody fantastic. (Sat right behind the pilot in ZK-SAA, the 208B smile.gif )

Not my best shots, but be NZ's darn cold weather. Nevermind...

Cheers,

Enjoy it while you can....FRE is completing it's lease to Air NZ soon and it won't be around for too much longer. SJE as well.

Wellington in a nutshell. Most pictures I post were taken in these winds laugh.gif makes it hard to get shots at times.
Plus you weren't doing anything illegal. Who shook their fist at you? So was this a harder place to photograph than elsewhere?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Just some old people, probably thought I was a young hooligan throwing rocks at cars or something. Its just there was a sign that said, DANGER DO NOT PASS. I was like hmm and continued walking, guess it was okay.

Didn't try any other spots actually, but thats good to know its okay. Will definitely visit for longer next time!

Thanks Guys

That danger do not pass sign is for the sea wall which sticks out into the sea. I wouldn't be game going onto that.

But the area around the 16 localiser is fine, infact quite often when I check up there I see people taking pictures.

Wellington apart from the weather is actually a really spotter friendly airport. The fence can be annoying at times but usually not.

So did you fins that taking photos was harder here?

No, much much better than Brisbane. Heaps closer, which is really handy.
