Have just posted my first video on youtube with mixed results. As previously posted I took about 9 hours of video at Heathrow Today I edited 8minutes down to about 4.5 minutes of takeoffs. It took 2 hours to upload and I couldn't believe the downgrade in quality on their standard play.I recommend watching it only in HD unless ATC comentary is all you need.Don't know if I'll persist on Youtube but would be keen to 'print off' HD copies of further edits for NZFF members.Anyway if you want have a look:Search for my login: 'air42south' on youtube.Interested to hear your responses.Postscript:The HD on the edit looked really sweet but replaying same from youtube looks as though picture is tugging.Any comments appreciated.Ian.

nice quality in HD smile.gif

just one question, why dont you film take-off, you cut just before rotate, is there a pillar or something in the way.

other than that its a nice vid mate smile.gif

Like the vid Ian, sweet mix of aircraft there, rock solid too, did you have the camera on a tripod?

I do get afew rotations on 27L above terminal buildings and adjacent the tower but due recessed window and triple glazing,I could only move tripod about 3 to 4 feet which extended runway view a few hundred metres.Rotation was adjacent a pub called The 3 Magpies just along the road which I frequented(What veges would you like with your steak, peas or mushy peas,at least they had cold beer). The aircraft noise there was terrific with the transition from engine whine and ground noise transitioning to the smoother sound of flight.Filming outside could only have been at ground level and this would have been compromised by heavy mesh security fencing and the cold.It didn't get much above 3 to 4 degrees during the day.I only nominated 780ix 25 fps in the upload to youtube but will change that in today's effort to 30fps which should give a smoother picture.Ian.

Have now posted episode two which features New Zealand One finally getting airborne and the ATC lady talking to 5 aircraft in a minute. Not in HD as yet but hopefully they'll add that otherwise it's worth a listen. Will post some landings next.Ian.
